Curious Soul; what stirs within you at this pivotal cross-roads?

We are one intrepid human family, you and I. Our first courageous ancestors dared to live and dream. To take brave steps into the vast unknown. To dream the unimaginable and to seed us, this humanity into being.

Now, we are a vast and colourful species that covers our shared home and mother, earth. We are peoples of many colours, languages, cultures, faiths, and beliefs.

This diversity of our experience drives us or divides us in unimaginable ways. Over generations, we have drifted from deep communal relationship with the earth. We have caged ourselves in concrete rooms and overloaded our bodies and senses with a neurological need for the next dopamine or serotonin ‘hit’. Many have forgotten the rhythms of nature; the ebb and flow of the oceans, the cycles of the sun, moon and stars. Ideologies, have become the monotonous drone of our consciousness and moved us into deep forgetting; from awe into subjugation, control and profound loss.

Over eons, our minds and hearts have become fertile grounds of separation and segregation. We have turned on our bodies; segmented our minds and barred our hearts. We have become conditioned to cast away, destroy or deny aspects of ourselves, others or the world that does not fit. To look at what ‘offends us’ feels uncomfortable…it makes us feel shame, anger, fear or hatred.

The calamities of the world - Who’s fault is it? Who is the enemy?

We have become entranced on duality – in a battle of right or wrong. On a societal level, this denial or attacking has resulted in war after war. In war, we have lost ourselves, and lost our homes – becoming displaced humans, in an unquenchable thirst for belonging that has been etched on the soul of humanity. Trans-generational trauma has led to an imbalance in resources and both mental and physical illness is rampant, taking no preference.

Somewhere within attempting to prove our right to exist, we have forgotten that we do indeed exist – that we are alive.

That, in this living, breathing body, we are part of a larger whole. A vitally important cell, of a larger organism. That our shared home, the earth, is part of us. That your neighbour is part of you. That the being that offends you, is part of you. That, whether we like it or not, we are one inter-locked thread. We are a cord of songs, prayers, desires that return to our shared ancestors. We share a consciousness.

How do you/I/we respond to this?

As humanity meets its toughest challenges as a species - How do we meet the resistance, the pull, the denial that humanity is connected?

Is it possible to shift our perspective – to see humanity as a vast colourful spectrum? Rainbow Warriors; all fighting to BE in this world.

What would happen if humanity rose to the occasion in unity, in reverence to difference?

When does suffering shift to acceptance of shared trauma?

Where is the place for compassion, after the hands of generations of persecution?

Bring this all inwards:

Where is the room for compassion at the parts of ourselves we most despise?

How do you look yourself in the eye; in all that you deny, yet still find love?

How can you welcome the lost-children of our inner house home?

Yes; this begins at the level of our own deepest enquiry.

Somewhere within the internal war of our personal traumas; there is something wishing to be met.

Somewhere, is the dream of our ancestors; the wise ones, the ancient ones who call us back to remembering a place of right relationship with ourselves and the world.

These ancestors can be met within you, within your stories and within your re-relating with the wildness of nature.

Follow the cord, follow the songs of your ancestors – there we will meet each other. There, we may remember, we sing the same song.
